TR 318 - Peaceful Riots & Political Circus

Tip-toeing into the contentious topic of what's best for our country.
4

Game on.

Like him, love him, or loathe him, Donald Trump is still very much center stage in American political theater. His speech at CPAC was rousing enough to drive the liberal media to madness and thrust the fact-checkers into overtime. He walked away with a cool 62% of the straw presidential poll—trouncing the #2 Ron Desantis by over 40 points. It’s like nobody else was even there.

Is this good news for America? I’d really like to know your thoughts:

Like it or not, there is no doubt that Donald Trump is a divisive figure, both on the left and right, and I believe it would behoove us all to keep that in mind.

Now, to my fellow MAGA patriots, to anyone who wants to get our country back on track and Make America Great Again, the idea of Donald Trump getting a second chance at draining the swamp, building the wall, and finishing the job he started is a very enticing vision. Record low unemployment, energy independence, safer communities, and routing out the globalists are compelling selling points. It’s obvious why so many Republicans love Trump and believe he is the future of the party.

However, I also feel there are other considerations that need to be made. Consider, for example, the fact that former Vice President Mike Pence has refused to back Trump’s re-election and claimed that he’s holding out for “better choices,” stating that he trusts Republican voters will sort it all out in the primaries:

If I were to guess, that short clip of Pence probably makes some of you spitting mad.

Isn’t Pence the guy who betrayed the President and refused to make a stand for election integrity? Isn’t Pence the guy who could have saved our country in the 2020 election? There are many MAGA supporters who believe Mike Pence was/is a turncoat, loyal to the political establishment, and that he was deeply involved in the treachery of trying to remove President Trump from office. What do you think?

When you think about Pence and Trump, there is probably a swirl of emotions that come up. Just take note of that, because these emotions might very well be played against you at some point. We need to think clearly, and emotions cloud the mind.

Here are a few logical points that I think need to be made:

  1. Trump won 62% of a CPAC straw poll. That means he won the support of the majority of people who were at that event. That does NOT mean that he’s won the same level of support from conservative voters in general.

  2. For contrast, other recent polling shows Desantis up 64% to Trump’s 36% among likely Republican or right-leaning voters. Of course, polling is more about shaping opinion than measuring it, but the numbers are out there just the same.

  3. Regardless of the polls, or what you personally think about Trump or Pence, this exposes the primary weakness of having fissures in the liberty movement. The Left is in lockstep, while the Right is divided, and that is a major problem.

Understanding that we can’t really trust the polls, what do we know for sure?

Well, we know that the political establishment is working against Trump. We know that the Republican party is working against Trump. We know that the Democrat party is working against Trump. We know that the deepstate intelligence agencies are working against Trump. We know that media and big tech companies are working against Trump. We know that hostile foreign governments are working against Trump.

We know that liberals literally and truly HATE Donald Trump. We know there are many Republicans who loathe the man and are avowed Never Trumps. We know that the majority of entrenched federal bureaucrats will stop at nothing to thwart his plans, etc, etc. All of this raises a very practical question:

Can Trump unite the country and achieve?

“Well, come on now Luke, we’re way past that! There’s no way we can unite the country now—we’re way too divided—that’s why we need Trump to finish cleaning house, draining the swamp, restoring the republic, and saving our nation!”

Sure, I can understand that perspective. But is this actually going to happen?

Is the deepstate, the media, the establishment, the Never Trumpers, the progressives, and every other opposing force simply going to roll over? Do you think for a second that Antifa, BLM, and the rest of the radical leftist anarchists would hesitate to burn this whole place to the ground if Trump was elected?

Do you think all the people who believe Trump is a monster, who believe he is the leader of all the racist white-supremacists and violent right-wing extremists who terrorized the Capitol on J6, who believe every lie they’ve been repeatedly told about Trump and his supporters since the very start—do you think any of these people are going to suddenly come around and accept that Trump is trying to Make America Great Again? Do you think they’ll ever give up on their TDS delusions?

I don’t.

So where does that leave us?

I guess that leaves us with the sense of “So what?”—so what if all of these people are against Donald Trump? That doesn’t mean that he cant’ win, right? Our country is so divided, it only seems fitting that we have a divisive president too, right? Is there anyone else who has the strength and stamina to stand up to the deepstate like Trump does? Is there any better leader than Teflon Don? Hasn’t he proven himself to be a patriot? Hasn’t he shown that he won’t back down? Isn’t that what we need?

Why yes, yes it is. Hear these words from Trump’s inspiring CPAC speech:

“At the end of the day, anyone else will be intimidated, bought off, blackmailed, or ripped to shreds. I alone will never retreat. And that is why we must stand together and charge. We have to charge full speed ahead.

We have no choice. If we don’t do this, our country will be lost forever. People are tired of rhinos and globalists. They want to see America first. That’s what they want. It’s not too complicated. This is the final battle. They know it, I know it, you know it, everybody knows it. This is it. Either they win or we win.

And if they win, we no longer have a country.”

You’ve heard me say similar words, that if we don’t make a stand now, then we will have lost our freedoms forever. Global tyranny is tightening its grip. The U.S. is under attack from enemies both foreign and domestic. We are constantly being lied to and misled. People are confused and unsure. The fundamental transformation is moving right along and the incredible transition is almost complete.

Trump is right, if the globalists win, we will no longer have a country.

Now hear these words:

“[I]f you put me back in the White House, their reign is over. Their reign will be over, and they know it. And America will be a free nation once again. We’re not a free nation right now. We don’t have free press. We don’t have free anything. In 2016, I declared I am your voice. Today, I add I am your warrior, I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution. I am your retribution. Not going to let this happen. Not going to let it happen. I will totally obliterate the deep state.”

“I will totally obliterate the deep state.”

Now that is a remarkable claim, is it not? Those are fightin’ words, right? While one might relish the sentiment, think about what that actually means. That means going to war against the most powerful government agencies in the world. How do you think that might play out? Or better yet, haven’t we seen this all before?

I’m not saying that it doesn’t need to happen or that nothing can be done, I’m saying that this a very bold promise and I believe it gives false hope. In order to really route out the deepstate, Trump would need Republicans to stand together—and if experience is any indication, the only real solidarity once the battle erupted would be amongst the entrenched political establishment, left and right, who believe that Trump and his MAGA supporters are the greatest threat to “our democracy.”

Don’t lose sight of the bigger picture.

Hung election. Civil war. That’s what they’re pushing for.

It’s all about the narrative. The J6 show trials, the farcical lies about a violent insurrection, the demonizing and dehumanizing of Trump and his supporters. All of this comes to bear on the 2024 election. Despite how I might feel about Trump, despite agreeing with his message and appreciating his efforts, there’s something in me that can’t quite shake the sense that we’re being set up.

Beware of hopium. That is the message of my heart for today.

Stay wise patriots!
