Ep. 60 - They Say It’s NOT About Freedom?

“This is not about freedom.”

Joe Biden’s voice has been ringing throughout the Democrat echo-chamber, and seeping into the utter void of rational thought amongst liberal pundits. Consider these quotes:

  • This is not about freedom or personal choice. It’s about protecting yourself and those around you,” the president said in prepared remarks

  • “I love how people talk about personal freedom. If your exercising personal freedom puts someone else in jeopardy, their health in jeopardy, I don’t consider that being very, dealing with freedom.” Not only does this sound incoherent, it is flies in the face of logic.

  • Mocking people for making medical choice a political issue, Biden snarks: “‘I have the freedom to kill you with my Covid,’ I mean come on, freedom.”

I want to pick these statements apart line-by-line, and tear into the underlying ideology, but first, let’s get a baseline for an old fashioned American perspective:

“[Sometimes] in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another… to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them…”

The Declaration of Independence expresses self-evident truths, that we are all endowed with certain inalienable rights, that among those are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness.  

The constitution goes further to protect these rights, by restricting the government and reserving all other rights to We The People. Consider the 9th Amendment:

The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

What’s the take away? In a nutshell, here’s what we’ve got:

  1. Certain unalienable rights — rights that are impossible to take away — including the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Freedom is our natural state of being.

  2. Congress “shall make no law” abridging the freedom of speech —  to diminish or reduce the scope of conversation — or restrict our right to peacefully assemble.

  3. We The People have the right to form a “well regulated militia” — to keep and bear arms — precisely because this is “necessary to the security of a free State.”

Now, let’s get back to Biden’s feeble-minded, dim-witted arguments against freedom.

  • If your personal freedom puts some one else at risk — that’s not really freedom.

  • It’s not about personal choice, it’s about protecting people around you.

  • Freedom means “I can kill you with my covid.”

When contrasted with the Constitution, when reconciled with natural reality, these statements smack of an astounding arrogance — and a proportionate degree of ignorance. Simply put, Joe Biden, Democrat leaders, liberal lunatics, and global leftist are completely detached from reality.

The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution do not give us our rights. Instead, these documents eloquently enshrine the self-evident truths that lie dormant in hearts of humanity.

Freedom is contagious. A revival is brewing.
