The ends justify the means.
In his Rules for Radicals, Saul Alinksy says this:
“The man of action views the issue of means and ends in pragmatic and strategic terms. He has no other problems; he thinks only of his actual resources and the possibilities of various choices of action. He asks of the ends only whether they are achievable and worth the cost; of means, only whether they will work.”
Notice how there is no moral consideration. This should come as no surprise. After all, Alinksy dedicated this book to Lucifer, aka Satan, the Father of Lies and cunning deception. Unfortunately, entire generations of progressive activists have taken these radical admonitions to heart. Violence was the natural consequence.
Saul Alinsky was mentor to Bill Ayers, the militant domestic terrorist who modeled the Weather Underground on the Chinese communist Red Guard, and together these men had a profound impact on Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. They were both openly communist, and they both believed that violence was a wholly justified means of overthrowing America, which was necessary to institute a communist state.
Consider Ayers haunting summary of intent stated to the New York Times in 2001:
