URGENT: The Ukraine Special Report
History, Perspective, and Questioning What Is Really Going On
How do you define the right side of history?
Are you aware that political revolutions have led to the formation of more than 60 new countries, just in the last 50 years? I find that fascinating. More than 20 of these countries sprouted up in Eastern Europe after the dissolution of the former Soviet Union. This is where our story begins.
In every revolution, there are two sides to the story. Who are the good guys? Who are the bad guys? Who are the victims? Who are the oppressors? Are there subversive agents at play? Could there be some clandestine secret agenda? What do we really know for sure?
We know that the human struggle for freedom is timeless, that government oppression and corruption leads to political revolution, and that people everywhere ultimately just want to be free. Drawing from the wisdom of our own founding documents, these prescient words capture the point I am trying to make:
“Whenever any form of government becomes destructive … it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles … as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.”
— The Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776.
It is this historical struggle for freedom, with different factions battling for independence or dominance, that has shaped, and continues to shape, the world as we know it.
By framing current events in this broader context, this report presents the relevant history and information you need to know, so you have an informed perspective about the current conflict in Eastern Europe. It may be assumed that this is a war between Russia and Ukraine, but there is much more to the story.
